More about Naomi
I have been an educator for three decades. Having three children of my own who have graduated from high school, I am aware of the stresses and pressures endured by students and therefore I hold specific interests in working with young adults, particularly in the areas of education, life transitions, relationships and social challenges.
I strive to foster a respectful and confidential space for young people to express themselves freely and openly about their concerns and desired outcomes. I believe this is developed, by getting “good at feeling” rather than relentlessly pursuing “feeling good” and by clients learning practical strategies and having tools to more effectively sit with, resolve and manage their challenges, moving forward with sustainable outcomes.
My marriage of 25 years, with whom I am very lucky to have two beautiful daughters and a beautiful son, is an enormous source of motivation and inspiration and provides a ceaseless experience of relationships ups and downs, which help me to understand and therefore support the couples I work with.
By following the Gottman method in couples counselling, I offer couples specific tools to help rebuild foundations and healthier lines of communication to enhance a more caring and loving relationship.
I am a passionate supporter of LGBTQIA+.
